Wrexham striker Kieffer Moore is aiming to play a key role in his team’s push for a Championship play-off spot as the season approaches its final stages. The 33-year-old forward returned to action over the Easter period after overcoming two separate hamstring injuries that sidelined him for eight matches since early January.

Moore will face competition for attacking positions from teammates Sam Smith and Bailey Cadamarteri as Wrexham strive to secure a top-six finish, which would offer a chance to compete for promotion to the Premier League. The Welsh international emphasized the positive impact of internal competition on the squad’s performance, noting that it helps elevate standards during training and match preparation.

“Competition breeds success,” Moore said. “We’re all pushing each other and trying to get the best out of one another. You can see that day-by-day in training, especially during shooting drills where the intensity is always high.”

Wrexham are looking to rebound from a heavy 5-1 defeat at home against Southampton on Tuesday as they prepare for today’s Championship fixture at Birmingham City’s St Andrew’s stadium, which kicks off at noon and will be broadcast live.

Birmingham City, meanwhile, are struggling with form, having earned only four points from their last eight games. Manager Chris Davies will benefit from the return of midfielder Seung-ho Paik, who has recovered from an ankle injury sustained in Monday’s match against Ipswich Town. Paik has resumed full training after passing all medical evaluations, according to Davies.

“He did take a heavy knock, but he’s available for this game,” Davies said. “He’s been training and has gone through all the checks this week.”

The Blues will continue without defenders Kai Wagner and Alex Cochrane due to injury concerns. As both teams seek crucial points in their respective campaigns, much will be expected from Wrexham’s attacking options and Birmingham’s bid to reverse their dip in form.
