Kuwait’s Ministry of Education announced on Friday that a team of three high school students has left for Tashkent, Uzbekistan, to participate in the 57th International Chemistry Olympiad (IChO), which runs from July 10 to 19. The delegation includes students from both public and private schools: Ali Al-Qallaf, Zahra Al-Haddad, and Fatima Al-Mulla.

The students underwent specialized training and intensive preparation designed to equip them for the competition at the international level. Their participation is overseen by the Technical Science Guidance Department at the Ministry of Education. The delegation is also supported and sponsored by the Sabah Al-Ahmad Center for Giftedness and Creativity, an institution affiliated with the Kuwait Foundation for the Advancement of Sciences (KFAS). Accompanying the students are chemistry supervisors Issa Al-Qallaf and Haifa Al-Adwani.

The Ministry of Education emphasized that Kuwait’s involvement in the IChO demonstrates its ongoing commitment to identifying and nurturing talented students, enabling them to compete on a global stage. The ministry indicated that such initiatives aim to enhance participants’ scientific knowledge and practical skills, fostering academic excellence and enabling Kuwait’s youth to represent the country with distinction in international scientific arenas.
