Kuwait’s Amir Sheikh Meshal Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah received a handwritten message on August 19 from General Abdel Fattah Al-Burhan, Chairman of Sudan’s Transitional Sovereignty Council, addressing the longstanding fraternal ties between Kuwait and Sudan. The message emphasized the importance of further strengthening and developing bilateral relations across various sectors. Sudanese Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation Mohi El-Din Salem delivered the communication to His Highness the Crown Prince Sheikh Sabah Khaled Al-Hamad Al-Sabah, who received it in a formal meeting held in Kuwait City.
The occasion was attended by prominent officials including Head of the Crown Prince’s Diwan Sheikh Thamer Jaber Al-Ahmad Al-Sabah, Kuwaiti Minister of Foreign Affairs Sheikh Jarrah Jaber Al-Ahmad Al-Sabah, Sudanese Minister of Finance and Economic Planning Dr. Jibril Ibrahim Mohammad, and senior representatives from both countries. The discussions focused on avenues to enhance cooperation and diversify bilateral engagement, consistent with the nations’ shared interests.
Following the formal handover, Kuwaiti Foreign Minister Sheikh Jarrah Jaber Al-Ahmad Al-Sabah met with his Sudanese counterpart Mohi El-Din Salem and the accompanying delegation to further discuss the current state and future prospects of relations between the two countries. The talks encompassed collaboration to serve their peoples and regional cooperation aimed at promoting security and stability in the broader Middle East.
The Kuwaiti Foreign Ministry highlighted that both sides reviewed recent developments impacting the region and exchanged views on ongoing efforts to foster peace and stability. To honor the Sudanese delegation, the Kuwaiti minister hosted a luncheon, underscoring the diplomatic warmth and goodwill between the parties.
