Sum Technology Bhd has agreed to acquire a majority stake in INI Technologies Sdn Bhd, entering into a share sale agreement with INI-Concept Sdn Bhd to purchase 51% of the company’s equity for RM2 million. The deal was announced on September 23, with funding to be covered entirely by Sum Technology’s internally generated resources.

The transaction aligns with Sum Technology’s broader strategic plans to expand beyond its current mechanical, electrical, process utilities and fire fighting (MEPF) services. The move will enable the company to enhance its offerings in the related area of intelligent security, monitoring, and automation solutions.

Upon finalizing the acquisition, Sum Technology will gain access to INI Technologies’ technical capabilities, workforce, established client base, operating infrastructure, and its network of suppliers and technology partners. The acquisition is expected to strengthen Sum Technology’s position in the integrated turnkey solutions market, particularly in sectors requiring controlled environments such as cleanrooms.

No timeline for completion was disclosed, but the company indicated that the acquisition would immediately provide operational synergies and expand its portfolio of services.
