Summit Power Limited (SPL) reported a 173% increase in consolidated net profit for the financial year ended June 30, 2026, driven largely by reduced impairment losses on several non-operating assets. The independent power producer’s earnings per share (EPS) rose to Tk1.04 in FY26, up from Tk0.38 in the previous year.
The company’s board, meeting recently, recommended a 10.50% cash dividend for fiscal 2025-26. To approve the proposed payout, SPL has scheduled its annual general meeting for December 30, with November 19 set as the record date to identify eligible shareholders.
SPL attributed the significant improvement in its bottom line mainly to a decrease in impairment losses related to seven non-operating power plants. The impairment loss recognized in FY26 was Tk94 crore, substantially lower than Tk381 crore recorded in FY25. This change reflects an updated fair valuation of the plants.
Financial metrics also showed a slight increase in the company’s consolidated net asset value (NAV) per share, which rose to Tk40.73 as of June 30, 2026. The improved profitability and strengthened balance sheet underscore SPL’s recovery and ongoing operational progress amid evolving market conditions.
