A pickup truck crashed into a supercar dealership in Hockley Heath, near Solihull in the West Midlands, causing significant damage to two McLaren vehicles on Sunday afternoon. The incident occurred at the Ryland Specialist Cars showroom, which sells luxury brands including McLaren, Rolls-Royce, and Lamborghini.

According to West Midlands Police, the Isuzu pickup appeared to lose control as it traveled across a main road from a pub car park opposite the dealership. The truck smashed through a showroom window, dislodged a metal beam, and came to rest inside, damaging a black McLaren 750S Spider valued at approximately £270,000 and an orange McLaren GT worth around £105,000. No other vehicles were reported damaged.

The Ryland dealership was closed at the time, and no customers were inside. One man sustained minor injuries and was taken to hospital for treatment. Police remained at the scene into the evening, while private security was brought in to safeguard the luxury cars still on site.

A man in his 30s was arrested on suspicion of criminal damage, and he remained in police custody as of Monday evening. West Midlands Police stated they received the initial call at about 3:45 p.m. on December 7. In addition to the damage to the showroom, a window at the neighboring pub was broken, and multiple reports were made of individuals being threatened nearby. A witness reported that the driver attempted to force entry into the pub shortly after the crash.

Staff from the pub, part of the Stout and Stone Inns group, noted that the pickup was parked in their lot for “an hour or two” prior to the incident. However, according to CCTV footage reviewed by pub employees, the driver had not been inside the premises and was unfamiliar to the staff. The pub subsequently closed following the event.

A McLaren representative confirmed the crash but declined further comment due to the ongoing police investigation. Authorities continue to investigate the circumstances surrounding the event.
