Susie Cave is set to relaunch her fashion label, The Vampire’s Wife, after the brand ceased operations earlier this year. Known for its distinctive gothic-inspired gowns, the label was co-founded by Cave, the wife of musician Nick Cave, in 2014.

The Vampire’s Wife garnered a high-profile clientele, including Catherine, Princess of Wales, who has been seen wearing pieces from the collection. Notably, the princess wore an emerald Falconetti dress by the brand during a royal visit to Dublin in 2020.

The label’s hiatus followed the collapse of Matchesfashion, one of its major retail partners, which significantly impacted its business. Cave, 59, described the period after the closure as challenging and full of uncertainty. “I was thinking, ‘What am I going to do now?’” she said in a recent conversation with designer Bella Freud at Cadogan Hall in Belgravia.

Despite the setbacks, Cave indicated that The Vampire’s Wife is preparing for a revival. “The Vampire’s Wife has just been having a little sleep, but it will rise again,” she stated, hinting at upcoming plans to resurrect the brand.

The Vampire’s Wife became known for its romantic yet dark aesthetic, often blending vintage styles with a modern edge, which cultivated its niche appeal and loyal customer base. The relaunch aims to build on this distinctive identity while navigating the challenges of a competitive fashion industry.
