A 66-year-old man from St Helens was arrested on suspicion of possessing an indecent image of a child following a police operation on the East Lancs Road. Authorities had launched an investigation after receiving reports that the individual had uploaded an indecent image online on August 17.
On September 27 at approximately 10:15 a.m., officers identified a vehicle on the A580 East Lancs Road registered to the suspect. Law enforcement deployed a stinger device to stop the car and subsequently boxed it in, leading to the man’s arrest at the scene.
Merseyside Police confirmed that the suspect was taken into custody on suspicion of possession of an indecent photograph or pseudo-photograph of a child. He has since been released on bail under certain conditions as the investigation continues.
