Tajikistan and Kuwait have held discussions aimed at enhancing cooperation in workforce development and labor market integration. On September 16, in Dushanbe, Tajikistan’s Minister of Labor, Migration and Employment, Soleha Kholmahmadzoda, met with Kuwait’s Ambassador to Tajikistan, Mohammad Al-Ameeri, to explore ways to strengthen bilateral ties in employment and vocational training.

The talks focused on recruiting qualified Tajik workers to fill positions in Kuwait’s private sector. Both sides emphasized the potential benefits of tapping into Tajikistan’s technically skilled labor force. Kholmahmadzoda highlighted Tajikistan’s interest in expanding cooperation not only in recruitment but also in vocational training and skill development programs.

The Kuwaiti envoy pointed to the importance of building mechanisms to facilitate the recruitment process and facilitate ongoing communication between relevant institutions. He underscored Kuwait’s commitment to working closely with Tajikistan’s Ministry of Labor, Migration and Employment, as well as the Public Authority for Manpower in Kuwait, to implement initiatives outlined in a memorandum of understanding signed in 2024 following Tajik President Emomali Rahmon’s visit to Kuwait.

Discussions also covered the exchange of expertise and capacity-building measures, aimed at strengthening ties between labor authorities in both countries. Ambassador Al-Ameeri reaffirmed Kuwait’s intention to coordinate continuously with Tajik partners to ensure effective follow-up on proposals and to promote sustained cooperation over workforce exchange.

This engagement reflects a broader effort by both nations to capitalize on mutual interests in labor mobility, vocational training, and technical skill enhancement, seeking to foster economic collaboration through human resource development.
