talabat, a leading everyday app in the Middle East and North Africa (MENA) region, hosted the latest session of its “Next Tech Gen” (NTG) initiative in partnership with CODED Academy at Abdullah Al-Salem University in Kuwait. The two-day workshop, held recently, aimed to provide students with practical technology skills tailored to meet the evolving demands of the labor market.
The NTG program is part of talabat’s ongoing corporate social responsibility (CSR) efforts focused on education. It facilitates direct knowledge sharing between students and talabat’s technology experts, covering key areas such as artificial intelligence (AI), product development, data analytics, and digital platforms. The program is designed to bridge the gap between academic learning and industry needs, equipping young professionals with the tools necessary for success in the digital economy.
For this session, the company collaborated with CODED Academy, the first coding education institution in the region, to deliver a hands-on workshop. Over two intensive days, more than 100 participants learned to design, launch, and transform websites into scalable digital projects that address real market needs. The training included the use of AI-powered tools, advanced platforms such as Replit, and practical instruction on prompt engineering, website integration, and modern web application architecture.
Participants also gained insights into building sustainable business models for digital ventures, allowing them to convert technical knowledge into projects with commercial potential. Among the numerous project ideas developed, one notable example was a prediction platform created for users engaging in competition during the knockout stage of the FIFA World Cup 2026. The platform enabled participants to predict match outcomes, earn points for correct predictions, and track rankings on a live leaderboard, culminating in the crowning of a champion after the final match on July 19.
Talabat’s Corporate Affairs Manager in Kuwait, Amal Bukhamseen, emphasized the company’s belief in investing in people as the foundation for technological impact. She noted that the partnership with CODED Academy reflects a shared commitment to empowering Kuwait’s youth with future-ready skills and practical experience using AI-driven tools.
Hashim Behbehani, Co-founder and Chief Operations Officer of CODED Academy, highlighted the ongoing collaboration’s role in providing valuable opportunities for students to develop hands-on tech skills. He stated that the workshop strengthened participants’ confidence in transforming ideas into integrated digital products aligned with the digital economy’s needs.
The initiative aligns with talabat’s long-term vision of preparing a generation equipped to contribute to Kuwait’s digital economy and support the national development framework outlined in Kuwait Vision 2035. By fostering engagement with industry experts and expanding access to emerging technologies, the Next Tech Gen program seeks to nurture the next wave of technology leaders in the region.
