Talabat has launched a new initiative called Talabat Grow in partnership with Qatar Science & Technology Park (QSTP) to support local restaurants in Qatar. The programme aims to onboard more than 180 homegrown restaurants over the next 12 months, offering subsidised commissions, business training, and personalised guidance to help them navigate rising operational costs and increasing competition.

Moaiad Aqel, managing director of Talabat Qatar, said the initiative goes beyond food delivery by providing practical support designed to strengthen restaurant partners' long-term sustainability. The initiative includes reduced commission fees, a two-week training course, and ongoing one-on-one support from Talabat’s team. The combined approach seeks to improve the financial health of participating restaurants while equipping them with skills to manage operations efficiently and expand their customer base.

“Small businesses are facing growing costs and competition, and we want to help them navigate these challenges,” Aqel said. He highlighted that the initiative offers immediate financial relief alongside business development support to address operational challenges such as expense management, service quality, and customer attraction.

Talabat Grow focuses on enabling restaurants to make better use of the opportunities presented by the delivery platform and to enhance their overall business performance. Aqel noted that by lowering commission rates and providing targeted training, the initiative offers a sustainable model for local eateries to thrive amid a competitive market.

The launch of Talabat Grow aligns with Talabat’s broader strategy in Qatar to create more value for both customers and restaurant partners. This includes strengthening delivery services and investing in complementary ventures such as Talabat Kitchen, which supports food businesses in expanding their capacity and reach.

With the onboarding target of over 180 local restaurants within the year, Talabat aims to help these businesses build resilience and grow their operations by leveraging the platform’s resources and expertise. The initiative represents a concerted effort to support Qatar’s food industry amid economic pressures and evolving market demands.
