Approximately 120,000 TalkTalk customers are set to be transferred to a new broadband supplier, Rise Fibre, over the coming months. The move will expand Rise Fibre’s customer base to around 250,000, while TalkTalk will retain approximately 1.5 million subscribers.

Both TalkTalk and Rise Fibre began notifying affected customers on August 3. The transfer process will be automatic, requiring no immediate action from the households involved. Rise Fibre has assured customers that broadband support will continue uninterrupted throughout the transition.

Customers will be able to keep their existing Wi-Fi routers, and broadband speeds are expected to remain consistent. The companies have indicated that service disruption during the switchover should be minimal or nonexistent. Subscribers who are currently under contract with TalkTalk will maintain their existing terms, including monthly rates and early termination charges for those who opt to exit their service agreements prematurely.

Rise Fibre will handle billing once the transfer is complete and has advised customers to keep paying their bills as usual and to avoid canceling any direct debits during the process, as these payments will transfer automatically. Customers no longer under contract with TalkTalk may choose to leave without penalties and may want to explore alternative service offers.

This customer migration reflects ongoing changes and consolidation within the UK broadband market, as providers adjust their customer portfolios and service infrastructure.
