Jockey Taylor Johnstone reached a significant career milestone on Saturday, securing her 200th win at Morphettville Racecourse. Johnstone guided Winning All Round, a consistent competitor trained by Aaron Bain and Ned Taylor, to victory in a Class 1 race over 1522 metres. Starting at odds of $6, Winning All Round settled well within the field before making a decisive move in the final stages to hold off challengers Damelli and Big Rita June.

Trainer Aaron Bain praised the horse’s durability and performance, noting that Winning All Round has compiled two wins and five placings from eight starts. Bain acknowledged that the horse’s only unplaced finish came at Mildura and suggested the horse could be tested over longer distances in the future. Johnstone’s ride was commended for its timing and strategy, reflecting her integral role within the team.

Winning All Round is owned by Strike Thoroughbred, a syndicate with a focus on Australian racing. The meeting also saw successful outings for trainers Phillip and Tommy Stokes. Their horse Regal Ripper, ridden by Harry Grace at odds of $14.70, captured a Rating 64 event over 1522 metres, finishing ahead of I Am Ralph—who entered the race as an emergency starter—and Bargain Boy, with jockey Caitlin Jones returning after an injury hiatus.

The Stokes stable marked a double win alongside trainer Noel Callow, whose Bohemian Angel secured victory in a 1200-metre race at $5 odds. Bohemian Angel overcame rivals Tough Talk and Dampen in a closely contested finish. Meanwhile, promising performer Ole Go continued its strong form by winning a heat of the Rebel Raider Series over 1050 metres. Ridden by Todd Pannell and trained by Michael Hickmott, Ole Go controlled the race in the final 200 metres to fend off challengers Czech Out and Super Wonder.

Other notable winners included Golden Cloud, who at $5.40 overcame a wide barrier with a skillful ride by Jake Toeroek for trainers David Jolly and Justin Potter in a Class 2 race over 1200 metres. Victorian trainers Mick Price and Michael Kent Jr also continued their success at Morphettville when Sixty Grand, at $3.60, outfinishing Suit Of Wands over 2028 metres.

In a heat of the Happy Trails Series over 1522 metres, Time Quest delivered an upset at $17.30 for trainers Ron Daniel and Trish Stanbury with jockey Alysha Warren aboard. The stable had only recently taken over training responsibilities for the horse after its previous preparation in New South Wales. The final race on the card saw Bred ’Em All, a $1.90 favourite ridden by Jake Toeroek, prevail over 1050 metres and is now being considered for a campaign in Melbourne.

The Morphettville card showcased competitive fields and highlighted the talents of several promising horses, trainers, and riders across the metropolitan racing program.
