A 16-year-old boy accused of sexually assaulting and murdering his stepsister during a family cruise has been ordered to return to jail pending trial. Timothy Hudson, described by authorities as “baby-faced,” had been released on bail for several months before a recent court decision mandated his re-incarceration.
Court documents filed last week and obtained by a local news outlet indicate that Hudson will be placed under the custody of U.S. Marshals and housed at Citrus County Jail. The court also ordered that he undergo another mental health evaluation while in detention.
Hudson faces charges that could result in a life sentence if convicted of the accusations related to the death of his stepsister, Anna Kepner. The case remains under investigation as preparations for trial continue.
