Chicago police have charged a 17-year-old boy in connection with the armed robbery and fatal shooting of another teenager in the Wicker Park neighborhood last year. The suspect, whose name has not been released due to his status as a minor, was arrested Saturday and faces first-degree murder and armed robbery charges. Authorities say he fatally shot 17-year-old Xavier Colletti on the 1500 block of North Honore Street just before 2 a.m. on November 15, 2025. Colletti was found with multiple gunshot injuries and later died at Stroger Hospital.
In separate incidents over the weekend, Chicago police reported three other fatal shootings across the city. Early Sunday morning, an 18-year-old man was found fatally shot inside a residence on the 1700 block of West Garfield Boulevard at approximately 5:15 a.m. The victim, who has not been publicly identified, was pronounced dead at the scene.
Saturday night, a 36-year-old man was shot and killed in the Roseland neighborhood. Police said the victim was standing outside on the first block of East 95th Street around 9:50 p.m. when he became involved in an argument with another individual. The confrontation escalated into a physical altercation, during which the other person fired several shots before fleeing northbound. The man was transported to Christ Medical Center in critical condition but succumbed to his injuries.
Additionally, a shooting in West Garfield Park late Friday resulted in one death and one injury. Authorities responded to the 3800 block of West Monroe Street around 11 p.m., where they found 28-year-old Jacquell Phillips with multiple gunshot wounds. Phillips died shortly thereafter at Mount Sinai Hospital. Police also reported that another man, 32, was shot in the knee during the same incident. He sought treatment independently at Rush Hospital and was listed in stable condition.
The Chicago Police Department continues to investigate all incidents, looking for additional information and potential suspects.
