An 18-year-old teenager lost his hand in a fireworks explosion outside an In-N-Out Burger location in Pleasanton, California, on June 3. Nader Hanna, who had graduated from high school just three days prior, was with his twin brother and friends when the incident occurred. According to accounts, a classmate gave Hanna a firework roughly the size of a tennis ball, which detonated immediately upon being lit.

Following the explosion, Hanna’s twin brother, Ramsey, called emergency services and searched the area in an attempt to locate fragments of his brother’s hand. Authorities responded to the scene to provide assistance.

The incident highlights ongoing concerns about the risks associated with handling fireworks, particularly among youth. Local officials have repeatedly warned about the dangers of unauthorized use of fireworks amid safety efforts in the community. No further details about Hanna’s current medical condition were released.
