A teenage boy has been commended for his prompt actions in rescuing two men who fell into the water from an inflatable boat in Broadford Bay, Skye, on Saturday evening. The 16-year-old, who was nearby in his own boat, responded quickly after noticing the men in distress and successfully brought them back to shore.
The Kyle of Lochalsh RNLI lifeboat was dispatched to the scene but arrived after the men had already been rescued. Both men were reported to be safe and well following the incident.
Andrew MacDonald, helm at Kyle RNLI, highlighted the importance of the teenager’s initiative, stating that his quick thinking helped to prevent a far more serious outcome. The lifeboat organization praised the boy for his actions, emphasizing the positive impact of immediate response in water emergencies.
