A 16-year-old boy has been found guilty of attempted murder after stabbing a 15-year-old girl at a school near Norwich earlier this year. The incident occurred on March 11 at Thorpe St Andrew School in Norfolk, where the teenager entered the premises wearing a mask and carrying a kitchen knife.
During the trial at King’s Lynn Crown Court, the prosecution described the accused as having an "obsessive and dangerous interest in killers and killing" and noted that he had written a note expressing "hatred of women." Prosecutor Christopher Paxton KC stated that the boy had come to the school "not to learn but to kill." The victim was stabbed in the back and was treated in hospital before being discharged. The prosecutor remarked it was “sheer good fortune” that the girl was not more seriously injured.
The teenager admitted to wounding with intent and possession of a knife but chose not to give evidence during the trial. The court heard that he dressed in black and wore a mask at the time of the attack.
Sentencing has been scheduled for December 18.
