Two teenage boys have been charged in connection with an alleged armed robbery and subsequent police pursuit involving a stolen vehicle in Western Sydney. The incident unfolded on Thursday evening, when the driver of a silver Audi was reportedly held at knifepoint on Second Avenue in Blacktown by two youths.
Police allege that shortly after the theft, a third teenager arrived in a silver Mercedes, and the group departed the scene in both vehicles. The stolen Audi was later observed at around 11:30 p.m. in St Marys during an alleged fuel drive-off.
Authorities from the Nepean Highway Patrol attempted to intercept the Audi, triggering a police chase. The vehicle was tracked by a police helicopter, known as Polair, as it traveled through several suburbs including Doonside, Blacktown, Toongabbie, Seven Hills, and Glendenning. The pursuit concluded when the Audi was halted after hitting road spikes.
Two boys, aged 14 and 16, were apprehended and taken to Blacktown Police Station. The younger teenager faces multiple charges, including police pursuit – not stop – drive dangerously, dishonestly obtaining property by deception, receiving a stolen motor vehicle, and driving a conveyance without the owner’s consent. He was refused bail and is scheduled to appear in a children’s court on October 16.
The 16-year-old was charged with receiving a stolen motor vehicle and being carried in a conveyance without the owner’s consent. He was also refused bail.
The stolen Audi was later recovered unattended on Fourth Avenue in Blacktown and has been seized for forensic examination as part of the ongoing investigation.
