Temple University showcased a dominant performance on both sides of the ball to secure a 38-14 victory over Rhode Island on Saturday in Philadelphia. Running back Keveun Mason led the Owls’ offensive charge with 158 rushing yards and two touchdowns. Temple's defense contributed significantly by scoring on two interception returns, helping to seal the win.

Rhode Island briefly leveled the game at 7-7 following a 35-yard touchdown pass from quarterback Tyler Budge to wide receiver Marquis Buchanan. Budge completed a total of 195 passing yards, throwing for one touchdown and adding a rushing touchdown of his own. However, his efforts were hampered by two interceptions. Buchanan was a key offensive target, finishing with 137 yards on 10 receptions.

In other Saturday contests, Army delivered a commanding 59-3 victory against Bryant at West Point, New York. The Black Knights’ ground game was particularly effective, with both Zach Mundell and Cale Hellums rushing for two touchdowns apiece. Bryant’s offense struggled overall, gaining only 165 yards compared to Army's 648. Bears quarterback Brennan Myer managed 88 passing yards but was unable to overcome the large deficit.

Syracuse also had a commanding win, routing New Hampshire 66-3 on its home field. The Orange amassed 513 yards of total offense, with quarterback Steve Angeli tossing three touchdown passes. Freshman running back Shavane Anderson added three rushing touchdowns to the scoring outburst. New Hampshire gained 155 yards in total and remains winless through two games.

Meanwhile, Appalachian State secured a 55-3 blowout over Maine, fueled by quarterback Malachi Singleton’s 291 passing yards and three touchdowns. Maine, now 1-1 on the season, received 198 passing yards from Eddie Buehler but was overwhelmed by the Mountaineers’ potent offense.

These results highlight strong performances from several teams early in the college football season, with Temple, Army, Syracuse, and Appalachian State displaying notable offensive and defensive strengths.
