Qatar Railways Company (Qatar Rail) has announced a temporary suspension of Lusail Tram services from June 26 to July 5 to carry out significant improvement works across the network. The decision, made in coordination with the Ministry of Transport, aims to enhance passenger experience and improve the overall performance of the tram system.
During the suspension period, replacement bus services will be provided between Legtaifiya station and Tarfat — South station to maintain connectivity for commuters. In addition to these buses, existing MetroExpress and Metrolink services, including the recently introduced Metrolink route M154, will continue operating within the affected areas to support passenger movement.
Following the initial work phase, tram services on at-grade sections of the Lusail Tram will remain suspended as Qatar Rail undertakes further comprehensive upgrades designed to increase operational efficiency and improve travel quality. During this extended suspension, MetroExpress and Metrolink services will continue to cover these segments, ensuring sustained access and transit options for users.
Qatar Rail has encouraged passengers to consult guidance maps available at tram stations to identify replacement bus routes, locations of nearest stops, and service schedules. Additional information and updates will be provided through the company’s social media platforms and its dedicated customer call centre, reachable at 105.
