A suspected terrorist attack in Kangpokpi district of Manipur resulted in the death of a prominent religious leader and left four others injured. The incident occurred as members of the Thado Baptist Association (TBA) were returning from a religious gathering when gunfire was opened on two vehicles.
Among those killed was Reverend V. Sitlahour, the former general secretary of the Manipur Baptist Convention. The injured individuals have been admitted to Shija Hospitals in Imphal and are currently receiving medical treatment.
Chief Minister Y. K. Khemchand Singh condemned the attack and took aim at opposition parties, emphasizing that terrorists have no place in society. The authorities are investigating the incident and security measures have been heightened in the region to prevent further violence.
