Tesla has opened reservations for its latest Roadster model in the United Arab Emirates, with initial deposits starting at 20,000 dirhams (approximately $5,445). Prospective buyers are required to pay the full remaining amount within 10 days—190,000 dirhams for the standard Performance version and 1 million dirhams for the higher-end Thrust variant—although the initial deposit is fully refundable. The company has yet to announce a definitive delivery schedule.
The reservation option is available through Tesla’s UAE website under the Vehicles section, where customers can select their preferred model and place orders. The unveiling of the Roadster took place at a recent event in Texas, led by Tesla CEO Elon Musk.
Two primary editions of the Roadster are being offered for booking in the UAE. The Performance variant is described as "road ready" and features a two-seat configuration, active aerodynamic components, and a multimode suction system designed to enhance grip and handling characteristics. The Thrust variant, advertised as "race ready," includes additional acceleration thrusters Tesla says can propel the vehicle from zero to 100 km/h in less than one second. Tesla is limiting reservations to one per customer and will cancel any duplicate orders.
Additionally, Tesla is showcasing a third version known as the Rocket, which the company describes as "air ready." This unique single-seater is equipped with cold gas thrusters positioned around its body, enabling vertical lift, forward propulsion, and lateral movement in midair through rapid adjustments. Tesla has labeled the Rocket as an “Invite Only” model, and it is currently not available for reservation in the UAE or elsewhere online. The company notes that the Rocket is not authorized for public road use and its availability varies depending on regional laws and regulations.
As it stands, Tesla’s Roadster lineup in the UAE spans a range of capabilities, from high-performance electric sports cars suitable for road use to experimental models exploring aviation technology. However, specifics regarding delivery timelines and broader availability remain undisclosed.
