A North Texas couple known for their work in Christian faith and forgiveness literature have been charged with child abuse following allegations involving physical and sexual assault. Seth Michael Day and Heather Thompson Day, both 39, faced the charges last Friday after a high school teacher reported concerns raised by a minor, according to local authorities.
The minor accused Seth Day of striking her in the face and chest, injuries that were confirmed by Keene Police officers who observed visible cuts and bruises on the victim. Heather Day, who is a podcast host and author, is alleged to have witnessed the abuse without intervening.
Seth Day, who serves as a psychology professor at Southwestern Adventist University, has also been charged with felony sexual assault of a child following further investigation. He has been placed on administrative leave by the university pending the outcome of the case.
The Keene Police Department and Southwestern Adventist University have not issued statements regarding the allegations or the ongoing investigation. The couple’s rise to prominence in Christian circles for their teachings on faith and forgiveness contrasts sharply with the serious legal accusations currently facing them.
