English actress Jaime Winstone has spoken about her longstanding connection to Ibiza, describing the island as a place that holds significant personal memories and currently serves as a retreat from her busy London life. Winstone’s relationship with Ibiza spans back to her childhood, with family holidays forming the foundation of her affection for the Mediterranean destination.

She currently spends time on the island at the residence of her friend, interior designer Brigitta Spinocchia Freund. The house is located in the hills and operates entirely off-grid, surrounded by extensive gardens that foster a unique microclimate. Winstone characterizes the home as cozy and distinctive, mirroring the eclectic atmosphere of Ibiza itself.

Winstone notes that Ibiza offers diverse experiences, from boat outings and leisurely family dinners in town to casual shopping excursions. While the island is well-known for its vibrant nightlife, Winstone and her husband—who is sober—now approach social activities with a different mindset, enjoying evenings out while ensuring they return home at a reasonable hour.

Though Ibiza has a reputation for its hedonistic scene, Winstone emphasizes the island’s appeal for its more spiritual and restorative qualities, particularly at this stage of her life. She uses her time on the island to escape the demands of London, often bringing scripts to prepare for performances. The natural environment, she says, allows her to focus and experience a sense of freedom.

Winstone is set to appear in the upcoming series of the television dance competition “Strictly Come Dancing,” which will premiere in September on BBC One and BBC iPlayer.
