The iconic house featured in the classic television series The Brady Bunch has been opened to the public for tours, allowing fans to step inside the famed mid-century modern home seen on screen. Located at 11222 West Dilling Street in Studio City, California, the exterior of the house was used for the show’s opening shots, while interior scenes were filmed on the Paramount Studios lot in Hollywood.
The Brady Bunch, which originally aired from 1969 to 1974, centered around a blended family headed by Mike Brady (Robert Reed) and Carol Brady (Florence Henderson), each bringing three children from previous marriages into a shared household. The series became a cultural touchstone with its memorable characters—Greg, Peter, and Bobby Brady, alongside Marcia, Jan, and Cindy—and its depiction of family life in the 1970s.
In 2019, the television network HGTV purchased the house at auction and undertook a renovation to recreate the beloved interiors, documenting the process in a show titled A Very Brady Renovation. The original cast members, now adults, participated in restoring the home’s distinctive features, such as the burnt orange kitchen, floating stairwell, and the color-coded children’s bedrooms.
The Brady house on Dilling Street has long attracted fans and tourists, reportedly becoming the second-most photographed house in the United States after the White House. Visitors were previously restricted to viewing and photographing the exterior, but the recent opening of the interior to the public offers an immersive experience. Guests can explore the living room, kitchen, bedrooms, attic, and backyard, complete with the iconic swingset, Tiger the dog’s kennel, pushbikes, and wood-paneled station wagon in the garage.
The interior has been meticulously curated to match the show’s setting, featuring period-appropriate furniture, appliances, and memorabilia. Objects such as Greg’s wooden tiki idol, Marcia’s trophies, and the silver wedding anniversary platter evoke memorable episodes and quotable moments from the series, including Jan’s well-known frustration, “Marcia! Marcia! Marcia!” The experience aims to transport visitors into the world of the Brady family, capturing the bright, colorful aesthetics of the 1970s sitcom.
The attraction, known as The Brady Experience, operates Monday through Saturday from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m., with tickets starting at $189 per person. It continues to draw fans who grew up watching the show or discovered it through syndication, cable reruns, and streaming platforms, ensuring the legacy of The Brady Bunch endures in popular culture.
