Boucheron has unveiled its 2026 Carte Blanche high-jewellery collection, an artistic exploration of human creativity, emotion, and individuality. Under the direction of creative director Claire Choisne, the collection shifts focus from the environment, previously a central theme, to a deeper examination of humanity itself amid the rise of technology and artificial intelligence.

The collection is built around a classic cluster necklace archetype, with each piece evolving into a unique design to symbolize the shared yet distinct nature of human identity. Comprised of five thematic chapters—Rain, Flower, Light, Tattoo, and Checkers—the collection highlights the balance between connection and individuality.

The first chapter, Rain, features designs that evoke the sensation of suspended droplets, using cascades of diamonds to create an ethereal effect. Rock crystals serve as translucent elements that reflect and refract light, lending the pieces a mist-like quality rather than a conventional gemstone appearance.

In Flower, the collection draws inspiration from the natural progression of a bloom. Soft-pink quartz forms the backdrop for delicate, blossoming floral motifs that blend the boundaries between jewellery and fine art. This chapter emphasizes craftsmanship on an intricate scale, conveying a romantic and poetic sensibility.

Light centers on the use of morganites, which are arranged strategically to maximize the stones’ interaction with light. The jewels radiate with warmth and fluidity, designed to give an impression of dynamic luminosity rather than static ornamentation.

The Tattoo chapter takes a more intimate approach, transforming smoky quartz into canvases for detailed motifs inspired by Victorian body art and Boucheron’s historical archives. Roses, butterflies, serpents, and botanical forms appear as if inscribed beneath the skin, creating the illusion of permanent decorative markings.
