The existence of the universe and humanity within it is often viewed through various lenses, but one perspective emphasizes the presence of a deliberate Creator. This viewpoint holds that nothing exists without a Creator who is loving, merciful, and omnipotent, and that human beings inherently recognize their existence depends on such a Creator.
According to this outlook, humanity holds a unique position among all creatures. Humans are seen as representatives or deputies appointed by Allah to oversee creation. What distinguishes humans is their faculty of reason, granting them the freedom to choose a moral path consistent with their role or to act otherwise. This concept is supported by references from the Qur’an, which speaks about the soul’s inherent ability to discern right from wrong, and stresses that those who purify their souls will succeed.
Additionally, the belief system holds that each person is born with an innate disposition, or “Fitrah,” which is essentially pure and inclined toward a natural submission to God. Influences from the environment and upbringing are believed to shape individuals into different religious identities over time.
Central to this perspective is the idea of Divine Guidance provided by the Creator out of love and mercy. Rather than leaving humanity to rely solely on trial and error, guidance has been revealed through prophets sent throughout history. These prophets conveyed the divine message calling people toward peace and obedience to the one true God, consistent with Islam's monotheistic principles. However, adherents believe that earlier revelations were distorted over time by human intervention, resulting in various religious doctrines mixed with myths and superstitions.
To address the spiritual confusion, the final prophet, Muhammad, is viewed as bringing the last and unaltered revelation—the Qur’an—delivered as a complete and definitive source of guidance for humanity during an era described as spiritually dark. The Qur’an is considered by believers to fulfill specific criteria that affirm its divine origin and authenticity.
These criteria include logical coherence, as the teachings are meant to be rational and understandable; perfection, meaning it is free of internal contradictions or errors; absence of degrading myths or superstitions; consistency with scientific knowledge; accurate prophecies; and uniqueness, in that no human is capable of replicating its text or message. The Qur’an itself challenges readers to reflect upon its contents to verify its divine origin.
Overall, this framework presents a comprehensive interpretation of human existence, moral responsibility, and spiritual guidance grounded in the belief of a purposeful creation and ongoing divine intervention through revealed scripture.
