The Way Corporate Services (TWC) has introduced doorstep services for people with disabilities as part of its support for the Purple Saturday initiative, aiming to enhance accessibility and promote social inclusion. The move allows individuals with mobility challenges to access the company’s services without needing to visit its office.
The initiative was officially launched at a ceremony attended by key figures from Qatar’s business, social, and cultural sectors. Shaheen Muhammed Shafi, president of Kerala Business Forum (KBF), inaugurated the program, commending TWC for its commitment to translating social responsibility into tangible actions that ease daily life for people with disabilities. He emphasized that meaningful inclusion requires organizations to implement practical measures addressing accessibility barriers.
Purple Saturday, observed annually on the last Saturday of July across the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) states, encourages businesses and service providers to improve accessibility and offer inclusive benefits to people with disabilities. Dr. Amanulla Vadakkangara, CEO of Mediaplus, highlighted the campaign’s broader significance across the GCC in promoting a message of inclusion.
During the event, several speakers underscored the importance of collaborative efforts beyond government policies, calling on the private sector and community organizations to actively contribute to building an inclusive society. Simon D’Silva, head of the Doha Goan Welfare Association, praised the initiative as a positive step toward social inclusion. Jeby K. John, managing director of Qatar Tec, noted that the initiative embodies values of compassion, empathy, and consideration.
Abdul Rauf Kondotty, member of the Lok Kerala Sabha, urged other businesses and community groups to follow TWC’s example by removing barriers and bringing services closer to individuals with disabilities. Muhammed Rafeeq emphasized that such initiatives raise public awareness about the importance of treating all members of society with dignity and respect.
