Sir Gary Oldman has revealed that members of the British royal family are admirers of the television series *Slow Horses*, in which he stars. The actor shared that Queen Camilla and King Charles III are “big fans” of the spy thriller, with the Queen reportedly inquiring about the show's return. Additionally, Prince William expressed a humorous frustration with Oldman's character, describing a desire to “give you a good wash” each time he appears on screen. The series, which stars Oldman as a vulgar and unorthodox leader of a misfit MI5 unit, is set to launch its sixth season on Apple TV+.

Speaking on the *Happy Sad Confused* podcast, the 68-year-old actor recounted informal encounters with the Queen and Camilla, noting their enthusiasm for the program. “I know that Camilla, the Queen, is a big fan because, well, I’ve run into her a couple of times,” Oldman said. Reflecting on the royal family's engagement with the show, he remarked, “There’s sort of one of the Windsors at the palace on their sofa – ‘*Slow Horses* is nearly on’.”

Separately, Oldman spoke about being knighted in September at Windsor Castle, describing the experience as profoundly moving. He called the ceremony “overwhelming” and expressed gratitude for the recognition of his career achievements.

In other entertainment news, Welsh actor Matthew Rhys made history at this week’s Emmy Awards by winning two lead-actor trophies in a single night. Rhys secured Outstanding Lead Actor in a Comedy Series for *Widow’s Bay* and Outstanding Lead Actor in a Limited Series for *The Beast in Me*, marking the first time an individual has been awarded two lead-acting Emmys in one ceremony.

Upon accepting the awards, Rhys paid tribute to his Welsh heritage, calling Wales “a small but mighty nation” and expressing deep appreciation in his native language. Looking ahead, Rhys will lend his voice to the Welsh-language dub of *Star Wars: A New Hope*, taking on the role of Han Solo. Fellow Welsh actors Rhys Ifans and Aimee-Ffion Edwards will voice Obi-Wan Kenobi and Princess Leia, respectively.

Rhys also reflected on an earlier career moment when he narrowly missed out on playing James Bond. Joking about what he might have brought to the iconic role, he said he would have added “a limp and an eye patch,” referencing the fact that Daniel Craig ultimately landed the part.
