MONTCLAIR, Calif. — Thieves stole approximately $70,000 worth of Pabst Blue Ribbon beer from a Southern California warehouse in two separate incidents on August 17, according to Montclair police. The thefts took place at an Anheuser-Busch distribution center located about 40 miles east of Los Angeles.

In the first incident, roughly $45,000 worth of beer that was scheduled for delivery to Tucson, Arizona, was picked up but never arrived at its destination, authorities said. About an hour later, a second group using falsified documents claimed an additional $25,000 worth of beer, with police describing the individuals as representing a “purported subcontracting company.”

Montclair police are investigating whether the two heists were connected or part of the same operation. Meanwhile, Pabst Blue Ribbon has responded to the incidents by incorporating them into a lighthearted social media campaign.

The investigation remains ongoing as law enforcement officials work to identify the suspects and recover the stolen merchandise.
