Authorities in Tennessee have charged three individuals in connection with a series of attacks involving stray cats being shot with blow darts near a gas station in Erin. The incidents resulted in the deaths of several animals and left one kitten seriously injured, with wounds dangerously close to critical organs.

Darlene Hooper was arrested on Tuesday and faces three counts of aggravated cruelty to animals, each classified as a Class E felony, along with two counts of contributing to the delinquency of a minor. Additionally, two juveniles have been charged with aggravated cruelty to animals and are being processed through Houston County Juvenile Court.

The case came to light after Proverbs 12:10 Animal Rescue was notified about a deceased cat and an injured kitten found near the location. The rescue group highlighted the severity of the injuries sustained by the surviving animal, emphasizing how narrowly the kitten avoided life-threatening damage to its spine and aorta.

Local authorities continue to investigate the matter as they pursue charges related to the mistreatment and endangerment of the stray animals. The community has expressed concern over the incidents, underscoring broader issues of animal welfare and public safety in the area.
