Three people lost their lives on Sunday after encountering difficulties in the sea at separate locations in England, authorities reported.

At approximately 9:45 p.m., Devon and Cornwall Police responded to an incident at Fistral Beach in Newquay, Cornwall. Two individuals, a man in his 60s and a woman in her 30s, were pulled from the water but were pronounced dead at the scene. The police confirmed that their families have been notified.

Earlier in the day, Sussex Police attended a beach near Pound Road in West Wittering, West Sussex, following reports of two men in distress in the water at around 2:30 p.m. Emergency services rescued both men, providing medical treatment on site. One of the men was declared dead at the scene, while the other was transported to a hospital for further care.

Sunday’s weather varied between the two locations, with temperatures reaching a high of 26.5 degrees Celsius in West Wittering, compared to 20.2 degrees Celsius in Newquay, according to the Met Office.

Investigations are ongoing into the circumstances surrounding both incidents. Emergency responders continue to stress the importance of safety precautions when entering open water, particularly during warmer weather when sea conditions may pose increased risks.
