A pop-up event hosted by Khloé Kardashian’s Good American brand in Soho sparked frustration among several TikTok influencers after many were reportedly denied entry despite receiving invitations. The denim label’s launch party, held on Thursday, was promoted as an exclusive preview, but several content creators said they were left waiting in the rain only to be turned away.
Stylist Sasha Hlavinka described traveling 16 subway stops in inclement weather before arriving to find a lengthy queue outside the venue. After waiting through her designated time slot, Hlavinka said she was informed that the event was “pretty much over,” leaving her and others disappointed. Multiple influencers shared similar accounts, alleging they were misled by the invites and excluded from the anticipated preview.
In contrast, a separate VIP gathering took place later in the evening, featuring beverages from Kendall Jenner’s 818 tequila brand, a DJ, and themed treats. Notable attendees included social figures such as Martha Stewart and Kaia Gerber. The disparity between the treatment of TikTok creators and high-profile guests drew criticism online, with some suggesting the brand should consider compensating those left outside.
Good American has not issued an official response to the complaints as of now. The incident highlights ongoing tensions within influencer marketing events, where invitations and exclusivity can sometimes lead to conflicting experiences among guests.
