Time Out has announced plans to launch its first food market in the United Kingdom, situated in London’s West End. The company has secured a lease for a venue at The Crown Estate’s 10 Piccadilly development, which overlooks Piccadilly Circus. This marks a strategic shift for Time Out as it expands its focus on food and dining experiences amid challenges faced by its traditional media operations.
Currently operating 13 licensed Time Out Markets worldwide, the company is bringing its established global concept to London for the first time. The new market will feature 15 different restaurants, bars, and food businesses, offering a diverse range of culinary options. The venue is expected to open in the summer of 2028.
Time Out’s move into the food market sector reflects a broader industry trend where media and entertainment brands are increasingly diversifying into experiential offerings, particularly those centered on food and beverage. The company has not provided further details on the specific operators involved or the exact mix of cuisine to be featured at the Piccadilly site.
