Times Radio reported a 10 percent increase in its year-on-year audience, reaching 619,000 listeners during the latest quarter, driven in part by heightened public interest in political developments. According to Rajar, the official audience measurement body, listeners collectively spent 5.5 million hours tuned in over the quarter, marking a 14 percent rise compared to the same period last year.
The growth followed a politically charged summer, which saw intense focus on the decline of Sir Keir Starmer’s leadership and the early tenure of Andy Burnham in his new role. These events contributed to some of the station’s individual programs recording their highest-ever figures. Despite this year-on-year increase, the most recent reach was slightly below the previous quarter’s peak of 660,000 listeners.
Times Radio is part of News UK, the parent company that also owns talkSPORT, Virgin Radio UK, Talk, and U105 in Northern Ireland. Collectively, these national news and talk brands attracted 6.5 million weekly listeners during the same period.
News UK described the quarter as "extraordinary," noting that it reinforced the company’s position as a leading digital-first broadcaster in both audio and video markets in the United Kingdom.
