Barnsley have secured the signing of 21-year-old forward Tobi Adeyemo on a loan deal lasting until the end of the season. Adeyemo, who began his professional career at Watford, made an immediate impact by scoring within four minutes of his league debut during a Championship match against Blackpool in January 2023. However, after featuring in only a handful of additional matches for Watford, he spent time on loan at Wealdstone and Crawley before being released upon the expiration of his contract at the end of last season.

Following a period without a club over the summer, Adeyemo joined Barnsley for a trial earlier this month. His performances impressed manager Daniel Stendel, who confirmed the forward’s signing. Stendel emphasized the value of adding attacking options as Barnsley prepares for a demanding schedule ahead. The loan agreement also includes an option for Barnsley to extend the contract by a further year.

Adeyemo expressed his enthusiasm about the move, highlighting his alignment with the manager’s tactical approach. He noted his preference for playing in a style that allows him to get behind defenses and contribute goals, while also being able to hold up the ball and facilitate play for teammates. The forward’s arrival aims to bolster Barnsley’s attacking options as the club competes through the remainder of the season.
