Tonbridge Angels opened their campaign with a strong 4-0 victory over Braintree Town in a match played on Saturday. The visitors took an early lead when Lamar Reynolds converted a cross from Harry Gardner just before the 15-minute mark. Tonbridge quickly doubled their advantage as Reynolds’ shot rebounded off the crossbar and was headed in by Jephte Tanga.

Braintree goalkeeper Rylee Mitchell denied a second goal for Tanga just before halftime with a well-timed save, but Tonbridge continued to dominate after the break. Early in the second half, a precise through ball from Bunmi Babajide found Tanga, who finished smoothly to extend the lead to 3-0.

Braintree had limited chances during the match, with their best opportunity coming when Reuben Swann forced a save from Tonbridge goalkeeper Nathan Harness. The Angels secured their win deep into stoppage time when substitute Frankie Baker added a fourth goal.

Tonbridge manager Alan Dunne expressed satisfaction with his team’s performance despite voicing concerns over the poor condition of the pitch. The win provides a positive start for Tonbridge Angels as they look to build momentum for the season ahead.
