Swedish singer-songwriter Tove Lo recently reflected on various aspects of her career and personal life in an interview, sharing anecdotes about memorable fan interactions, her creative impulses, and upcoming projects.
One of her most striking fan encounters occurred early in her touring career in Austin, Texas. A fan approached her requesting a signature on his arm, only to return the next night with the autograph permanently inked as a tattoo. The fan also wore a custom T-shirt featuring a photo of the two of them. The following year, during the Austin City Limits festival, when technical issues delayed her set, Tove Lo spotted the same fan in the crowd. He was sporting a T-shirt with the image of them together pointing at the tattoo, a shirt he also threw on stage for her to keep.
Addressing recurring rumors, Tove Lo dismissed gossip about her being pregnant or entering rehabilitation, emphasizing that neither was true. She described eloping to Las Vegas as the most impulsive act in her life, saying she arranged the wedding with close friends just weeks after deciding to marry.
Her latest single, titled “DNH,” an acronym for “drunk and horny,” inspired her to recount a recent night out in Los Angeles. She described attending a party called Midnight Lovers, featuring a DJ set by Azzecca, followed by an after-party with friends where they enjoyed time in a hot tub, capturing a typical night in her social circle.
Tove Lo shared insights into her routines, including a cautious hotel check to ensure safety before taking a bath and pouring a drink. She also revealed her affinity for the lynx, Sweden’s Nordic wildcat, which inspired one of her tattoos and her stage name, “Lo” meaning lynx in Swedish. Her tattoo collection includes various personal motifs ranging from hearts to aliens.
Onstage challenges have included performing while battling food poisoning during a festival in Bali. Despite feeling ill just before her set, she completed her performance, excusing herself briefly to vomit before returning for the final songs.
When asked about a hypothetical end-of-life scenario, she preferred dying in space over drowning, imagining a serene, if suffocating, experience of floating. She also expressed a belief in extraterrestrial life, suggesting the existence of beings beyond Earth without claiming direct contact.
Known for her playful spirit, she described a party trick inspired by the film "The Exorcist," involving a bridge pose and an eerie walk, noting its unpredictability, especially under the influence of alcohol.
Tove Lo’s upcoming album, *Estrus*, is scheduled for release on September 18. She will embark on the Estrus tour in March 2027, stopping in Australian cities including Brisbane, Melbourne, Sydney, and Perth.
