Trabzonspor president Ertugrul Dogan has dismissed rumors that the Turkish club has agreed to sign Mohamed Salah, a free agent and former Liverpool forward. The denial comes amid earlier reports suggesting that Trabzonspor was close to securing the player’s transfer, potentially overtaking talks that Besiktas had reportedly held with Salah earlier in the summer window.

Speaking to the Turkish sports outlet A Spor, Dogan stated there is no existing agreement with the player. He also emphasized that there are no current plans to bring Salah to Trabzonspor. "If there were such a plan, information would be provided from our side, the press would be informed," Dogan said.

These comments came after reports from France alleged that Trabzonspor was attempting to hijack the deal following Besiktas confirming discussions with Salah. However, the club president’s remarks effectively refute any imminent move for the forward by Trabzonspor.

Salah, who completed his tenure with Liverpool as a free agent this summer, has been a subject of interest for multiple clubs across Europe and beyond. Despite Besiktas’ confirmation of talks, no official agreements have been announced at this time.

Trabzonspor’s statement clarifies the club’s position amid speculation and signals no immediate transfer activity involving the Egyptian international striker.
