KUWAIT CITY — The General Traffic Department conducted an extensive traffic enforcement campaign on September 1, resulting in the issuance of 2,756 traffic violations across various offenses.

The operation was overseen by Brigadier General Ahmad Fahd Al-Azmi, head of the Traffic and Operations Sector, and led by Brigadier General Rashid Hamoud Al-Hajri, director general of the General Traffic Department, alongside Colonel Ayoub Ghazi Fathallah, assistant director general for Traffic Regulation Affairs.

Among the violations recorded were 35 cases of speeding, 243 instances of illegal overtaking, 940 offenses related to obstructing the flow of traffic, and 1,508 violations for failing to use turn signals. In total, five individuals were detained during the campaign, and two juveniles were referred to the Juvenile Prosecution.

The operation also involved the impounding of 232 vehicles. Authorities apprehended 14 wanted persons and seized three wanted vehicles, subsequently referring them to the appropriate legal agencies.

The campaign reflects ongoing efforts by Kuwaiti traffic authorities to enhance road safety and enforce traffic regulations more rigorously.
