Kuwait’s Public Authority for Civil Aviation confirmed on Friday that transit operations at Kuwait International Airport remain suspended, despite recent reports suggesting otherwise. The authority stated that the suspension is still in effect until further notice, maintaining restrictions implemented earlier this year.
In comments to the Kuwait News Agency, the authority’s spokesperson Abdullah Al-Rajhi clarified that there have been no new arrangements with Jazeera Airways or any other carriers regarding the resumption of transit services. The decision to suspend transit operations has been upheld since the outbreak of recent attacks in the broader region.
According to Al-Rajhi, the continuation of the suspension is aimed at preserving the highest levels of security and safety for passengers, aircraft, and airport facilities. He emphasized that any changes to this policy will be communicated through official authority channels.
The ongoing suspension affects transit passengers who often rely on Kuwait International Airport as a connecting hub. No specific timeline was provided for when the transit operations might resume.
