Singapore-based luxury tea brand TWG Tea has launched its largest flagship store and first dedicated tea museum at Changi Airport’s Terminal 3. The 2,700-square-foot TWG Tea Gallery, situated within the Departure Transit Lounge North, operates round the clock and serves as both a retail space and a cultural exhibition.

A prominent feature of the gallery is a hand-painted world map that spans the 7-meter-high ceiling, illustrating the historical journey of tea across various continents. Below the map, a display wall holds over 1,200 tea tins, showcasing the extensive range of teas available. The accompanying tea museum houses more than 170 pieces of teaware and over 50 Russian samovars—large metal urns used to keep water warm for tea—that date from the 17th through the 20th centuries. Many of the samovars were acquired from Russian workshops in Tula, known for their quality craftsmanship, as indicated by hallmark stamps.

Additional teaware highlights include unglazed Yixing teapots from China, valued for their porous clay that retains tea flavors over time, and silver bachelor teapots from the 1800s designed for individual use. Porcelain items trace tea’s cultural significance, featuring blue-and-white styles resulting from exchanges between Islamic and Chinese potters. By the 17th century, Chinese porcelain had become highly prized in Europe, earning the nickname “white gold.” The collection also includes decorated tea caddies, historically used to secure valuable tea leaves; the term “caddy” is derived from “kati,” a traditional Malay weight measure for tea.

The TWG Tea Gallery offers several exclusive tea products available only at this location. The Grand Voyage Tea, priced at S$45.87 per tin, is a whole-leaf green tea featuring notes of orchard fruits, rose petals, and spices, with packaging inspired by the store’s ceiling artwork. Customers can also purchase this tea freshly brewed—hot or iced—for S$8.50 per 450ml serving.

For gift options, the Singapore Surprise Gift Set bundles three signature blends: Singapore Breakfast Tea, Silver Moon Tea, and 1837 Black Tea, costing S$89.91. The gallery includes a unique Takeaway Ice Cream & Sorbet counter, the only one of its kind in Singapore, with local-flavored offerings such as Pandan Gula Melaka & Coconut Tea Ice Cream and Sousorp & Temi TGFP01 Sorbet, priced at S$6.50 for a single scoop and S$10 for a double.

Additionally, the store features tea-infused macarons and chocolate bonbons, including a Mango Macaron with Alfonso Tea-infused chocolate ganache and a Pistachio Praline with crème brûlée tea-infused Royal Feuilletine crisp, at S$2.29 each.

Taha Boudhib, co-founder of TWG Tea and president and chief executive of its parent company V3 Gourmet, described the gallery as an immersive experience that bridges the past, present, and future of tea. Jean Huang, managing director of airside concessions at Changi Airport Group, added that the flagship store transforms a retail visit into a cultural journey, reflecting the shared values of innovation and hospitality upheld by both TWG Tea and Changi Airport.
