Nearly two million students across the Makkah and Madinah regions are scheduled to return to school on Sunday, marking the continuation of the new academic year in Saudi Arabia. The educational departments in Makkah, Madinah, Jeddah, and Taif have finalized preparations to welcome students back to classrooms.

Public and private schools in other regions of the kingdom began their academic sessions on August 23. The upcoming school reopening will involve approximately 464,000 students in Makkah and 270,000 in Taif. In Jeddah, around 700,000 students will resume their studies across 2,862 institutions, including public, private, international, and foreign schools.

The coordinated effort by the general directorates of education aims to ensure a smooth start to the school year for all students in these key regions. Authorities continue to focus on readiness and support for educational facilities as the academic term progresses.
