Authorities in Kaiapoi have arrested a 21-year-old man following a stabbing incident that left two individuals injured. Emergency responders were dispatched to a residence on Sidey Quay at approximately 8:25 a.m. yesterday after reports of a stabbing.

Upon arrival, police found a man with serious wounds to his leg and hand. A woman at the scene was also treated for moderate injuries to her hand. Both victims received initial medical assessment from Hato Hone St John personnel, who sent them to Christchurch Hospital for further treatment.

Detective Sergeant Belinda Campbell confirmed the arrest and indicated that the investigation is ongoing. No further details about the motive or the relationship between the individuals involved were released at this time.
