Two tourists were stabbed near the Acropolis in Athens on Tuesday, according to local police officials. The victims, a man and a woman both identified as Greek Americans, were attacked on a pedestrian street close to the entrance of the Acropolis and near the Acropolis Museum, located at the base of Acropolis hill.

Authorities reported that the woman sustained minor injuries to her leg, while the man suffered more serious wounds to his arm. Both individuals were promptly transported to a nearby hospital for medical treatment.

The assailant was apprehended at the scene and taken into police custody. Preliminary investigations suggest that the attacker may have been experiencing psychological issues, but further details have not been released.
