Tyler Perry has put his 22.5-acre estate in Beverly Hills on the market with an asking price of $57 million, making it one of the most expensive properties currently listed in the area. The California estate previously served as a residence for Prince Harry and Meghan Markle, the Duke and Duchess of Sussex, when they first relocated to the United States in 2020. Perry, known for his work as an actor, filmmaker, and studio executive behind projects such as “House of Payne” and the “Madea” series, declined to comment on the sale.

The Mediterranean-style mansion, located within the gated community of Beverly Ridge Estates, features approximately 24,500 square feet of living space. The main residence includes eight bedrooms arranged in a butterfly-shaped floor plan, complemented by a one-bedroom guesthouse and separate staff quarters. Records indicate Perry originally purchased the property for $4.3 million in 2004 and completed construction of the current residence in 2012.

Santiago Arana of The Agency, the firm handling the sale, noted that Perry has been spending less time in California, aligning with his announced plans to relocate to Puerto Rico next year. This Beverly Hills listing follows Perry’s June decision to put his Jackson, Wyoming, estate on the market for $39.5 million. The Wyoming property encompasses 37.62 acres and features a custom log home of roughly 10,988 square feet.

In addition to these properties, Perry owns a large estate near Atlanta, where he developed a 330-acre film studio complex, Tyler Perry Studios, situated on a former Army base. His real estate holdings also include an island in the Exuma Cays in the Bahamas.

While the broader Los Angeles real estate market has faced challenges from factors such as a local mansion tax and increased wildfire activity, luxury properties in Beverly Hills have remained comparatively resilient. According to Redfin data, the median sale price in the area rose 34.1% year-over-year, reaching $4 million in the three months ended August.
