The United Arab Emirates has extended an official invitation to Prime Minister Tarique Rahman to participate in two major defence exhibitions scheduled for early 2027 in Abu Dhabi. The invitation was conveyed by Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, crown prince of Dubai, deputy prime minister, and minister of defence of the UAE, according to a statement released by the UAE Embassy in Dhaka.
The International Defence Exhibition and Conference (IDEX 2027) and the eighth Naval Defence and Maritime Security Exhibition (NAVDEX 2027) will take place at the Abu Dhabi National Exhibition Centre (ADNEC) from January 25 to 29. These events are recognized as prominent international platforms for showcasing the latest innovations and developments in land, naval, and air defence technologies.
IDEX and NAVDEX are known for bringing together leading defence and security companies and experts from around the world, providing opportunities for collaboration and engagement on advanced military equipment and technologies. The dual exhibitions serve as critical venues for fostering dialogue among industry stakeholders, government officials, and military representatives.
The invitation to Prime Minister Tarique Rahman underscores the UAE’s intent to strengthen defence cooperation and open channels for strategic partnerships with Bangladesh. The exhibitions typically draw significant global attention, with participants ranging from multinational corporations to high-ranking officials, reflecting the expanding scope of international defence cooperation and technology exchange.
