The General Directorate of Identity and Foreigners Affairs (GDRFA) in Dubai has introduced a new job exploration visit visa designed to facilitate skilled professionals' search for employment within the emirate. This single-entry visa allows eligible applicants to enter Dubai without the need for a local sponsor or employer and engage directly with the labour market.
The visa is valid for 60, 90, or 120 days, depending on the applicant’s needs, with the possibility of extension subject to regulatory approval. The total duration of stay could extend up to 180 days. The initiative aims to assist jobseekers who prefer conducting their employment search from inside the UAE rather than applying for positions remotely.
Eligibility criteria require applicants to hold a minimum of a bachelor’s degree or an equivalent qualification. The job being sought must correspond to skill levels 1, 2, or 3, as classified by the Ministry of Human Resources and Emiratisation (MOHRE). Additionally, recent graduates from universities ranked among the world’s top 500 within the last two years may qualify. Applicants must also demonstrate sufficient financial resources to sustain themselves during their stay.
To apply, candidates need to submit various documents including a passport valid for at least six months, recent photographs, attested educational certificates, proof of financial means when applicable, and any other documents relevant to their specific category. Applications are processed digitally via GDRFA Dubai’s online platform or through the Federal Authority for Identity, Citizenship, Customs and Port Security (ICP). The application process involves entering personal details, selecting visa duration, uploading required documents, and paying fees electronically. Upon approval, the visa is issued electronically.
While the visa facilitates access to job interviews, recruitment events, and networking opportunities within Dubai, authorities emphasize that holding the visa does not guarantee employment. Jobseekers are encouraged to verify all eligibility conditions and submit applications exclusively through official government channels.
Officials also caution against engaging with unauthorized agents or intermediaries who claim to arrange visas or guarantee job placements.
