The United Arab Emirates and Lebanon have agreed to establish a joint business council aimed at enhancing private-sector cooperation and fostering new commercial partnerships between the two countries. The decision was formalized through a memorandum of understanding signed on Sunday during the UAE-Lebanon Business Forum held in Beirut.
The agreement was signed by Abdallah Sultan Al Owais, Vice-Chairman of the Federation of UAE Chambers of Commerce and Industry and Chairman of the Sharjah Chamber of Commerce and Industry, alongside Mohamed Choucair, Chairman of the Federation of the Chambers of Commerce, Industry and Agriculture in Lebanon. The formation of the UAE-Lebanon Business Council is expected to serve as an institutional platform where businesses from both nations can share market insights, exchange expertise, and identify potential investment and partnership opportunities.
The forum convened senior officials and business leaders from both countries with the objective of exploring avenues to boost bilateral trade and investment. Discussions focused on identifying sectors with high growth potential, facilitating strategic collaborations, and encouraging joint ventures that would foster economic development in each market.
Officials highlighted the council's role in supporting a structured dialogue between Lebanese and Emirati business communities, aiming to enhance economic ties and deepen integration between the private sectors. The initiative reflects ongoing efforts by both governments to strengthen economic cooperation amid evolving regional dynamics.
